Utah will soon be the first state to have more than one location of the cult favorite New York City-based Magnolia Bakery outside of its home state.

Located in Foothill Village, at 1400 Foothill Drive, Suite 104, the new bakery is opening Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 10 a.m. right after a ribbon-cutting, according to a spokesperson for the company.

Magnolia Bakery announced last summer that it was opening up franchise opportunities. The store in Holladay Hills at 1895 E. Rodeo Walk Drive, Unit B101 was the company’s first domestic franchise location.

The bakery has had a cult following ever since its cupcakes were immortalized in “Sex and the City” and “The Devil Wears Prada.”

Magnolia Bakery is also known for its banana pudding, cookies, pies and other treats. This year marks the brand’s 30th anniversary, its website said.

The company has 11 locations in New York City, and one each in West Hollywood, the Chicago loop, Kentucky and Ohio. According to its website, Magnolia Bakery also has international locations in India, Kuwait, the Philippines, Qatar, Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates.
