Letter: Utah voters don’t hold legislators to account
(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) Abortion-Free Utah launches a public campaign to end elective abortion in the state of Utah during a press event in the rotunda of the Utah Capitol on Wed. June 19, 2019.
George Pyle’s excellent commentary on Sunday was right on, except for one important omission.
In his “the Utah’s Capitol is the place where…” list of unconscionable deeds imposed on us by our compassionless legislators, he failed to include “the Utah Capitol is the place where”... members of the Legislature can ignore the public because the public, by and large, show their lack of concern for moral standards and will still vote them into office.
Shame on Sen. Dan McCay and others who simply don’t care about individuals’ needs, and shame on the voters who continue to hit the Republican button in support of their heinous legislators.
