A 58-year-old hiker has died in Holbrook Canyon in Bountiful.
The man went hiking alone on Saturday around 11 a.m. and was reported missing at 7:20 p.m., said a spokesperson for the Davis County Sheriff’s Office.
The man was breathing but unconscious when searchers found him in the canyon. Rescuers called for a medical helicopter, but the man died around 10 p.m. before it was able to reach him.
Rescuers carried the man’s body off the mountain, and a medical examiner is working to determine the cause of death.
The man’s identity has not yet been made public.
