Park City man arrested after road-rage shooting in Parleys Canyon

A Park City man is in custody after he reportedly fired a gun at another driver in a road-rage dispute in Parleys Canyon.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, Grant Newman Gutierrez, 23, and another driver were headed west on Interstate 80 near mile marker 132 on Thursday afternoon when Gutierrez — apparently upset by a lane change made by the other driver — fired a handgun in the direction of the other vehicle.

He missed. No one was injured.

The shooter was located and arrested near Foothill Drive and Sunnyside Avenue shortly thereafter.

According to UHP, Gutierrez was booked into the Salt Lake County jail for investigation of aggravated assault, discharge of a weapon, DUI, carrying a dangerous weapon while under the influence, possession of a firearm by a restricted person and possession of a controlled substance.
