Letter: Don’t need the money? Pass it along.
(Francisco Kjolseth | Tribune file photo) An unusually quiet 300 South in downtown Salt Lake City is mostly void of people during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on Thursday, March 26, 2020, while Squatters still offers beer and food to go.
I just read a letter to The Public Forum from Roger Edwards, who writes that, as a comfortable retiree, he does not need a check from the government and he doubts that many others in the country will need such a check as well.
As a comfortable retiree myself, I am planning to distribute any monies that I receive from the government to those around me who are struggling financially and to the small businesses that I patronize.
Maybe this is something that those of us more fortunate citizens could do to help our families, friends, local community and our national economy?
