Letter: Don’t forget to fund education

(Illustration by Christopher Cherrington | The Salt Lake Tribune) Historically, all income tax revenue in Utah has been spent on education. Recent tax reform efforts are challenging that idea.

With the tax changes the Utah legislators are proposing, I sure hope they don’t forget the importance of funding education. Our schools need more money to provide the best education possible. We need more schools, smaller class sizes, increased teacher salaries and provide a variety of courses.

As a high school student, I am worried that it is easy for our legislators to forget about education and cut or use the money elsewhere. With any tax change I hope they understand the importance of education and increase school funding.
