Letter: News should cover something besides Trump

It is both sad and very annoying that CNN and MSNBC have news programs 24/7 that are primarily focused Donald Trump. Many of us find it tedious to have to hear about his foibles on a daily basis, as if there were not any other important news.
The PBS Newshour manages to cover significant news stories worthy of our contemplation. For those of us tired of hearing nothing but Trump, there other options.
Be assured that, if something calamitous happens (a result of Trump’s misadventures), we will hear of it soon enough.
Meanwhile we will be free of hearing about Trump, only Trump, and nothing but Trump

sltrib.com is now free to access — no subscription required. We made this decision because we believe access to trustworthy, independent news shouldn’t depend on what you can afford — especially as misinformation and AI-generated content continue to rise.
Free to read doesn’t mean free to produce. Our reporters show up every day to ask hard questions and hold powerful institutions to account. That work takes resources.
