Letter: Trump embodies Christian principles

(Andrew Harnik | The Associated Press) President Donald Trump takes the stage at a rally at Resch Center Complex in Green Bay, Wis., Saturday, April 27, 2019.

Enough already with the “no-true-Christian” fallacy when it comes to explaining why evangelical Christians overwhelmingly support President Donald Trump. For example, Sunday’s Leonard Pitts column, “Don’t evangelicals ever get tired of being wrong?

Like Trump, the Biblical God whom evangelical Christians worship is a vain, self-centered, violent, bigoted, anti-gay, xenophobic, “racist, misogynistic braggart and bully” who demands complete subservience and loyalty, is above any human law, and is always right.

Evangelicals don't worship Trump in violation of their core Christian principles.

They worship Trump because of them.
