Congratulations, Orrin Hatch, on your long career in the U.S. Senate, representing Utah.

In a recent issue of The Salt Lake Tribune, I enjoyed reading about the new center that will soon be built and named in your honor. My request is this: In your final 6½ months as a senior U.S. senator, please address some key goals you have outlined for your new center.

That is, how about turning the power of your seniority into your own bully pulpit to demand change and lead by example by working across the aisle in the Senate, as well as the House of Representatives? You have the cachet to pull this off, Senator!
