Draper police began investigating Utah influencer Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, after receiving a call from one of Mortensen’s friends last month, according to police records.
The documents obtained by The Salt Lake Tribune on Monday are heavily redacted but reveal new allegations in the ongoing domestic violence investigation involving Paul and Mortensen.
On Feb. 23, someone called police and reported “that his friend was the victim of a domestic violence assault by an ex-girlfriend at her Draper residence.” According to the police report, the alleged assault happened the day before.
Police then met with the alleged victim, whose name is redacted in the report, and he “described two incidents of physical assault involving grabbing, scratching, shoving, and striking.”
The police department then obtained a 911 call log screenshot and photographs of scratches on the alleged victim’s neck, the report states.
The report also states that the “victim was apprehensive to report due to ex-girlfriend’s high public profile.”
The Draper Police Department has released limited information about the February 2026 investigation involving Paul and Mortensen, as the case is still open.
The case has been reviewed by Draper police and the city’s prosecutor and has been forwarded to the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office to determine if any charges will be filed, Draper police Chief Rich Ferguson said in a statement last week.
Paul and Mortensen have been the focus of national headlines in recent weeks, as their personal lives have led to the pause in filming of Hulu’s “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” and the cancellation of ABC’s “The Bachelorette.”
West Jordan police are currently investigating domestic violence allegations involving the couple from 2024.
Next month, Paul and Mortensen are scheduled to attend a hearing for a protective order that Mortensen requested earlier this month.
