One person dead, another injured after shooting in Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City police say one person is dead and another in critical condition after being shot Saturday night.

Lt. Steve Wooldridge said police received multiple calls at 6:46 p.m. about shots fired during a confrontation in the 900 block of S. 1100 West.

A person with fatal gunshot wounds was located two blocks west of the place where the shooting occurred.

Police also received reports that someone was shot at 1245 S. 900 West. When police went to that address they found a person in critical condition who was taken to a hospital.

Wooldridge said the shooting is under investigation. He said nobody has been arrested but police do not believe the public is in danger.
