Ogden police arrest teenager in fatal shooting of 16-year-old

Police have arrested a 17-year-old in connection with the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old early Saturday at an Ogden home.

The shooting occurred just before 6 a.m. in the 300 block of 9th Street, according to a news release from Ogden police. When officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old boy who had been shot. He died at the scene.

Officers later arrested the 17-year-old, booking him into Weber Valley Detention Center on suspicion of murder and possession of a firearm by a restricted person.

Police didn’t release any additional information about the shooting, including a possible motive. Officers said it appears the teenagers were “acquaintances" and that investigators aren’t looking for additional suspects.
