A 2-year-old boy died Tuesday after he got out of his house and strayed into traffic in Tooele County, investigators said.
The boy was at his home, north of Grantsville, about 10:30 a.m. when he walked into the road, FOX 13 reported.
A passing car hit the boy near 6900 N. Burmester Road, Tooele County Sheriff’s Lt. Travis Scharmann said.
The boy was taken to a hospital but later died.
The driver stopped and was cooperating with law enforcement, Scharmann said. Investigators were still looking into the death but said it did not appear to be suspicious in nature. They don’t believe the driver was speeding or impaired, Scharmann said.
