Friday is Pioneer Day, but it’s also Pie and Beer Day, which is the perfect excuse to consume one’s weight in, of course, pie and beer.

If you’re looking for something to do after the official Pie and Beer Day celebration at Smith’s Ballpark, at 77 W. 1300 South in Salt Lake City from 4-8 p.m. (where I’ll be one of the judges of the amateur pie-baking contest), here is a list of local businesses that will be marking the holiday by offering pie, beer or pizza, or all three.

All of the events below are happening Friday, and all of the info comes from Instagram. Happy Pie and Beer Day!

• Fisher Brewing, at 320 W. 800 South in Salt Lake City, will be offering three pies from Pie Fight, including blueberry lemon, strawberry rhubarb and apple crumble. Pies will be served from 11 a.m. until they’re sold out. The food truck Bella will be parked out front serving wood-fired pizza pies.

• Scion Cider Bar, at 916 S. Jefferson St. in Salt Lake City, will be serving gluten-free housemade pie bars starting at 4 p.m. to pair with its selection of over 200 ciders, in flavors including caramel apple pie and lemon cheesecake. To pair with the pie bars will be a new summer seasonal release called Koala Shorts, which is a guava and lemonade cider that will be available on draft.

• Tomodachi Bake Shoppe is dropping off mini versions of its brown sugar banana matcha cream pies at 11 a.m. at Ramen Ichizu, at 915 Washington St., Suite 1A, in Salt Lake City, and Loki Coffee, at 325 E. 900 South in Salt Lake City.

• Quarters Arcade Bar, at 5 E. 400 South in Salt Lake City, will have beer-related arcade games available to play for free, as well as free Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pinball. You can also get an optional pizza roll or pepperoni garnish on your beer if you so desire while supplies last.

• SaltFire Brewing Co., at 2199 S. West Temple in South Salt Lake, will have Brazilian empadinhas (savory mini pies) and beer specials all day.

• Epic Brewing Company, at 825 S. State St. in Salt Lake City, will be celebrating with live music, pies from Pie Fight (cherry and blueberry-lemon) and a new Epic beer called Cherry Pie Cream Ale.

• The Pearl, at 917 S. 200 West in Salt Lake City, will be serving pies starting at 5 p.m. from Moon Maker Arts, including pate chaud (Vietnamese meat pie) with fig nuoc cham caramel, Vietnamese key lime pie and stone fruit tarte tatin. To sip with your pie, The Pearl is offering a cocktail called Peach Pie in a Glass, featuring bourbon, Disaronno, peach liqueur, peach rosemary brown butter syrup, and lemon juice.

• Eva’s Bakery, at 155 S. Main St. in Salt Lake City, will be serving slices of peach bourbon pie.

• Pie Boy (the folks behind Baby’s Bagels) will be serving pizza, pie and beer specials from 5-8:30 p.m. at the bagel shop at 204 E. 500 South in Salt Lake City. There will be pies from Lady Flour, including a berry nectarine crumble, cherry amaretto Oreo and brown sugar key lime. Local beer will be available from Offset Bier (dry blonde ale and fruited quick sour), Helper Beer (Italian pilsner and American lager) and TF Brewing (imperial IPA and unfiltered German pilsner). Pizza specials will include a spicy Hawaiian and hot honey pepperoni.

• Wasatch Food Co-op, at 416 E. 900 South in Salt Lake City, will be offering a lineup of pies made in-house, including pecan brown butter, matcha raspberry, pluot cream, and ube meringue.
