A glass slipper, a prince and a fairy godmother — Ballet West’s ‘Cinderella’ is back in town

(Courtesy Ballet West | Beau Pearson) Ballet West's Beckanne Sisk and Chase O'Connell are among the performers in the 12-show run of Sir Frederick Ashton’s "Cinderella" on Feb. 9-25 at the Capitol Theatre.

Ballet West presents the archetypal rags-to-riches tale, “Cinderella,” Feb. 9-25 at the Capitol Theatre in Salt Lake City.

Single tickets range from $20 to $88 and are available online at www.balletwest.org or by calling 801-869-6900.

Artistic director Adam Sklute said that in 2013, Ballet West became the second company in the United States to perform Sir Frederick Ashton’s three-act ballet, set to Prokofiev’s classic score.

“I feel a closeness to this glorious version of ‘Cinderella,’” Sklute said, “and love presenting its joy, humor and elegance to our public.”

As part of the production, Ballet West will offer “Warm Ups,” a free discussion that begins one hour before each show and includes background on the ballet, information on the choreographer and other behind-the-scenes facts. Members of the Ballet West artistic staff also are available to answer questions.
