Garth Brooks is coming back to Rice-Eccles Stadium — for the last time

The show will be Brooks’ last Stadium Tour concert in Utah, Idaho and Wyoming.

(Isaac Hale | Special to The Tribune) Garth Brooks performs with his band during a stop on their stadium tour held at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City on Saturday, July 17, 2021. Brooks is set to return to Rice-Eccles on June 18, 2022.

When country star Garth Brooks performed at Salt Lake City’s Rice-Eccles Stadium last July, he told the crowd he wanted to come back in 2022.

True to his word, Brooks will return to Rice-Eccles Stadium, at 441 S. 1400 East, on the University of Utah campus, on Saturday, June 18, promoters announced Wednesday.

It’s the only return date for Brooks in North America this year, promoters said. It’s also going to be the last time Brooks will play the Stadium Tour in the Idaho-Utah-Wyoming region.

Last July’s show sold out 30 minutes after tickets went on sale. This year’s show, like last year, will be performed in-the-round.

Brooks has won the Entertainer of the Year award five times from the Country Music Association, and 10 times from Academy of Country Music. Some of his best-known songs are “Friends in Low Places,” “The Dance,” and “If Tomorrow Never Comes.”

Tickets will go on sale Friday, April 22 at 10 a.m. Mountain time. Buyers are limited to eight tickets each, and each ticket will cost $94.95. They can be bought online ticketmaster.com/garthbrooks, on the Garth Brooks line at Ticketmaster, on the phone at 1-877-654-2784, or on the Ticketmaster app.
