The University of Utah’s director of football sports performance resigned from his position on Monday morning, a university spokesperson confirmed to The Salt Lake Tribune.
Greg Argust was promoted to the position on Jan. 7 after previously serving as the team’s associate director of strength and conditioning.
The move is the latest shake-up for the Utah coaching staff in the months since Kyle Whittingham’s departure to Michigan. Utah’s longtime strength and conditioning coach, Doug Elisaia, followed Whittingham to the Wolverines.
Argust had been with the Utes for over 20 years, dating back to his time as a graduate assistant. In Argust’s place, the Utes elevated Steve Saunders to become the next director of football performance after he left the Baltimore Ravens in 2023.
Argust declined to comment when reached by The Salt Lake Tribune on Monday.
