Utah’s track and field team concluded its season this week after qualifying for various events in the NCAA outdoor track and field championships.
For the Utes, sophomore Erin Vringer finished her season with a time of 4 minutes, 16.66 seconds in the 1,500-meter semifinals, which wasn’t good enough to advance to finals. It was her first appearance in the NCAA championships.
Senior Josefine Eriksen, who holds seven all-time program records, fell short of qualifying for the 800-meter finals, placing 12th overall with a running time of 2:01.66. Despite falling short of reaching the next round, Eriksen will shift her focus to the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she will compete with Norway in the 4x400-meter relay, the country’s first time qualifying for any relay event since the 1920s.
Harley Daniel, a sophomore, finished 17th in the 400-meter hurdles clocking a personal-best time of 57.66. The Utes’ 4x400-meter relay team finished with a 3:34.50 time, missing out on a bid for the finals.
