Former Ute Megan Huff signs with WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx

(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) Utah Utes center Megan Huff (5) drives the ball as Utah hosts UNLV in women's NCAA basketball at the Huntsman Center, Thursday, March 15, 2018.

Megan Huff, a two-time All-Pac-12 first-team forward for the University of Utah in 2018 and 2019, has signed with the Minnesota Lynx, the team announced on Tuesday morning.

“I am so proud of the hard work Huff has put in this past season overseas and I think it is a testament to her work ethic and passion for the game that she has this opportunity,” Utah head coach Lynne Roberts said in a statement. “She is extremely talented and I can’t wait to see what she can achieve in the WNBA. We are proud that she is a Ute.”

Huff, who was selected 26th overall in the third round of the 2019 WNBA draft by the New York Liberty, spent last season in Latvia averaging 11.0 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game for TTT Riga.

In two seasons at Utah after transferring from the University of Hawaii, Huff became just the second player in program history to earn back-to-back first-team All-Pac-12 honors. It took her just 60 games to score 1,029 points, making her just third player in program history to eclipse 1,000 in two seasons.
