Aggie football fans might be having a cow right now.

Utah State on Friday unveiled an “ag-themed” alternate helmet that the team will wear for its season-opener against Robert Morris on Aug. 31.

The white helmet features not just a blue Utah State logo, but blue spots reminiscent of a Holstein dairy cow.

“We are honored to celebrate Utah State University’s long history of excellence in agricultural education with our alternate helmets,” USU Vice President and Director of Athletics Diana Sabau said in a news release. “USU has been at the forefront of agricultural technologies and practices since its founding. The helmets provide us an opportunity to honor Utah State’s agricultural success and those who work to maintain its reputation as one of the leading agricultural schools in the nation.”

USU was originally called the Agricultural College of Utah when it was founded in 1888.

Cache County is home to more than 1,300 farms and is one of the top 200 counties in the nation for “market value sold of milk from cows,” according to USU.
