It’s getting closer to the time when BYU men’s basketball fans will get their final chances to see the Cougars face off against powerhouses like Gonzaga and St. Mary’s in Provo.

The West Coast Conference on Tuesday released its matchups for all 10 of its men’s basketball teams. And when it comes to the BYU, fans will get the opportunity to see the Cougars eight more times at the Marriott Center before the university enters the Big 12 and the conference opponents change for good.

In the 2022-23 season, the Cougars will face the following teams at home: Portland, Gonzaga, Loyola Marymount, Pacific, Pepperdine, Saint Mary’s, San Francisco and Santa Clara. BYU will not have a home game against San Diego.

The Cougars will play Portland and San Diego just one time each this year. Portland will be at home, while San Diego will be on the road. BYU will face all other teams in the WCC twice.

The official conference schedule with dates and times will be released at a later date.

The Cougars had a 9-6 record in the WCC last season and finished 24-11 overall. The team had a stretch of three consecutive conference wins but followed that with four straight conference losses.

BYU did not qualify for the NCAA Tournament last year. It competed in the National Invitation Tournament and lost in the quarterfinal round.
