Fans of Utah’s new NHL team are getting close to picking the franchise’s new name.
There are now six names for fans to choose from, the team announced Thursday.
Those are:
• Utah Blizzard
• Utah Hockey Club (Utah HC)
• Utah Mammoth
• Utah Outlaws
• Utah Venom
• Utah Yeti
Fans will have until June 20 at 11:59 p.m. MT to vote for their favorite through a survey that represents the second round of voting. Details about the next step in the naming process will be announced “in the coming months,” the team said in a news release.
The franchise said 520,000 fans participated in the first round of voting for the new team’s name, and the six favorites that emerged accounted for 60% of all the votes.
The team’s inaugural season begins in October. Earlier this month, it announced season ticket pricing.
