How can Gov. Cox promote nuclear energy when we haven’t cleaned up the mess from earlier nuclear energy fiascos?
We still can’t safely dispose of nuclear waste or economically decommission nuclear power plants. Nuclear reactors have also made the plutonium used in nuclear weapons that threaten to destroy us and poison the planet. The nuclear promise of jobs, tax money and easy energy is a Faustian bargain — we would be selling our souls to the devil.
We should be investing in reliable and safe solar and wind energy to power the reasonable needs of the public.
