Pat Bagley’s recent cartoon, “Witness to an Execution,” summed up Utah’s “representatives” in Washington, D.C. (and Gov. Cox) perfectly. The cartoon accurately depicts our elected “representatives” cheering on yet another nonsensical Trump executive order, while completely ignoring the will of the majority of their Utah constituents.
Our corrupt, immoral and incompetent president is definitely a problem but it’s his Republican enablers who may be a bigger problem.
As always, the idea of “checks and balances” in public policy seems to be foreign to “constitutional scholar” Mike Lee and just about every elected Republican nationwide. They let Trump impose illegal tariffs, they let Trump start an unauthorized war and they let Trump assemble a Clown Car Cabinet.
Utah has not sent representatives to Washington: Utah has sent puppets.
