Letter: Bagley’s cartoon doesn’t do justice to Israel’s war with Iran
Pat Bagley | Peace in Our Time
Pat Bagley’s cartoon titled “Peace in our Time” (June 16) shows Benjamin Netanyahu shooting down the chances for a U.S. peace with Lebanon demonstrating Bagley’s lack of understanding of the differences between Trump’s war with Iran and Israel’s.
Israel’s interest in the conflict is survival. The IRGC is dedicated to the destruction of Israel. IRGC-backed Hezbollah rejected the terms of the recent ceasefire claiming that it amounts to surrender and continued to fire missiles into Israel.
Hezbollah’s goal is not to free Lebanon but to destroy Israel.
Bagley’s cartoon should have shown Hezbollah’s leader, Naim Qassem, shooting down the dove of peace. Or perhaps shooting missiles into Israel.
