I cannot even believe that our state is even considering allowing the public to set-off their own personal fireworks! This is one of the most irresponsible decisions I have ever heard. While I realize the significance of the July holidays, our extreme drought conditions are not going away anytime soon and the implications are too great. Personal fireworks should be banned and not even sold to the general public this year. People can attend their local firework displays and leave it to the professionals during this critical time. I cringe at the thought of what can (and most likely will) go wrong.
