As I am a 76 year old senior, like most others on this planet earth I have been concerned over COVID-19 for the past year and doing everything reasonably possible to avoid infection. I reflected on the extensive worldwide efforts to contain the virus and somehow had an epiphany as to what is really happening.
My thoughts reflected all the issues and events possibly relating the virus and our environment, global warming and climate change. I have long expressed (as published in my 2015 editorial) that exponential human overpopulation is a major threat to our planet.
Consider that “mother nature” is a force that has always worked behind the scenes to keep our planet in balance. Humans have been very successful in thwarting “natural catastrophes” and ensuring a continued unsustainable population increase with virtually no limitations. Kind of scary to think of what may come next.
