Letter: Shame on Republican congressmen

(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) Congressman Ben McAdams, D-Utah, holds a press conference on Midvale City's Main Street amongst shuttered businesses on Wednesday, April 29, 2020, as he calls for the Treasury Department and the Small Business Administration to release the complete list of who has received the nearly $700 billion in taxpayer-funded loans, which Congress intended for employers to keep employees on the payroll during the economic shutdown.

Can you believe it? Shame on Reps. John Curtis, Rob Bishop and Chris Stewart for voting to resume nuclear testing in Nevada.

Remember the bad old days when nuclear waste would drift over southern Utah, causing many residents to develop cancer? It’s really a shame that politics have become so partisan that representatives vote against the best interest of their own people just to be true to Donald Trump.

Thank you, Rep. Ben McAdams, for voting to protect the citizens of your own state.

Barbara Taylor, Salt Lake City
