Letter: Our leaders have lost touch with reality

Have you noticed that all the people who are enforcing the "stay home" directive, or who are supporting that directive, have "essential jobs." They have no skin in this game.

There have been 20 deaths in Utah because of the "virus" in six weeks. Auto accidents have caused more deaths in that same time period, while there are 33,000 new unemployment claims in Utah.

I am thinking our "leaders" have lost touch with reality.

sltrib.com is now free to access — no subscription required. We made this decision because we believe access to trustworthy, independent news shouldn’t depend on what you can afford — especially as misinformation and AI-generated content continue to rise.

Free to read doesn’t mean free to produce. Our reporters show up every day to ask hard questions and hold powerful institutions to account. That work takes resources.
