Letter: Kushner’s deal is just a bribe

(Pat Bagley | The Salt Lake Tribune) This Pat Bagley cartoon, titled "Peace Fowl," appears in The Salt Lake Tribune on Tuesday, June 25, 2019.

Shame on Jared Kushner. His “Deal of the Century” for Middle East peace boils down to “bribing” the Palestinians.

His plan offers no more than buying out Palestinians by offering money with absolutely no political solutions. He does not mention a future Palestinian state nor does he mention 1967 borders or East Jerusalem as a future capital.

This plan will further disruption and alienation as he plans to turn Palestinians interested in economic bribes against Palestinians who will not be compromised until their political ideals are settled.

But what could we have expected from Kushner, as he is a real estate mogul who has spent his life in crooked real estate deals after the pursuit of money? His deal is based on the assumption that anyone can be bought.
