Letter: The high cost of a Utah Jazz championship

(David J. Phillip | Associated Press file photo) Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert (27) scores past Houston Rockets guard James Harden (13) during the first half in Game 5 of an NBA basketball playoff series in Houston on Wednesday, April 24, 2019.

We fans would love to see the Utah Jazz return to the NBA finals again someday. Right?

Sadly, it boils down to how much more we fans will pay for tickets in order to lure the superstars needed. Or, at the very least, to increase the level of talent to buy a championship. Prices are currently so high now that the average fan can’t afford to attend games.

I suspect that many if not most season ticket holders are already owned by corporations or businesses because of the high ticket prices.

What’s the price of a championship and what are we willing we pay? Or as the saying goes, "Follow the money.”
