Letter: Don’t pay members of Congress during shutdowns

Just read the article about Sen. Mike Lee's plan to stop government shutdowns. Wouldn't it be a better plan to dock the pay of the Congress when they don't do their job and pass the budgets? In the real world, people who don't do their jobs get fired.

But I'd settle for them simply getting a big pay cut. Evidently they need some motivation. Shutting down the federal government hurts the federal workers, not those in power who deserve to be hurt, and who evidently don't mind not doing their job.
