Letter: We can choose to ignore hate

(Holly Ramer | The Associated Press) This Dec. 17, 2018 photo shows handmade earrings hanging on a Christmas tree in Hopkinton, N.H. These shown here combine two trends: tassels and an ombre color pattern.

I just read Johnny Townsend's opinion of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There is a lot that divides us, but only if we choose to focus on such things. We can also choose to ignore hate, broad brushes and division.

It is Christmas, and Christmas is a time to celebrate and to value one another. Merry Christmas to all my neighbors who read this, regardless of our differences.

May the joy and peace of the season be a gift to us all. And may we all do better in caring for and listening to one another.

Brad Young, Layton
