Letter: Republicans are not conservative, liberal or honest

Republicans passed a budget-busting tax law that will destroy our nation. What do they do next? They propose a balanced budget amendment. What in the name of reason are they thinking?
The Republican Party has been kidnapped by a group of people who are neither liberal, conservative nor honest. They are the American Legislative Exchange Council. This is an unholy alliance of corporations and legislators. President Donald Trump is only their front man.
The corporations draft bills behind closed doors, which benefit them at the expense of everyone else. Then they bribe the legislators to sponsor them. They don’t think of the consequences, because they have the mental sense of a 6-year-old.
I am an independent Democrat who believes we need both parties. I hope the Republicans can get their party back. Then the Democrats will have someone intelligent to talk to.
