Utahns may have to start labeling their maps in pencil.
What with the White House social media accounts constantly scrawling new names for various geographical features — the Gulf of America, Lake America and now New America instead of New Mexico — more of these amendments are likely.
Names ripe for change right here in Utah include Mexican Hat, Spanish Fork, Dutch John. To the north, maybe Moscow, Idaho. Or, given our president’s apparent affection for the president of Russia, maybe not.
Then, of course, there’s New England, New York, New Jersey. Not very imaginative names, those. But they can’t all be New America.
Keep those dry-erase boards handy.
