The Division of Motor Vehicles will reopen its South Salt Lake Office at 2880 S. 380 West on Wednesday.

It has been closed for more than a week to reduce the possible spread of COVID-19 after an employee tested positive for the disease.

“The office has been deep-cleaned, sterilized and no other employees have received positive tests,” said Monte Roberts, the division director.

He notes that all customers planning to enter the lobby are required to schedule an appointment. They may be scheduled online at dmv.utah.gov. He also notes that the DMV will not process new title and registration transactions in the office’s drive-thru window.

Many other motor vehicle actions may be completed online.

Masks are not required but strongly suggested to protect the health of the staff and public. The division says that precautions continue to be made to limit person-to-person contact and limit the size of public gatherings while continuing to provide necessary services.

DMV office access and services statewide vary depending on location and available staffing. Up-to-date information regarding local DMV office status is available at dmv.utah.gov.
