Utah’s Delicate Arch license plate is all the rage, but a new colorful design is up for grabs this year.
The America 250 plate, intended to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, will be up for sale starting June 1. The deep-blue plate features an American flag draped along the left side, with 1776 encircled by 13 stars to honor the original 13 colonies.
(Utah Division of Motor Vehicles) Utah's America 250 license plate will be available starting on June 1.
“Utahns are excited to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary and reflect on the principles that have shaped our nation,” Sen. Dan McCay, R- Riverton, said in a news release.
McCay, who represents the Senate on the Utah Division of Motor Vehicles’ design review board, said the plate is Utah’s way for residents to be “part of this historic milestone.”
The new license plate will be available through July 31, 2027, according to the release. The price will be the same as Utah’s other standard-issue plates, such as the Delicate Arch plate, the “In God We Trust” plate, and the “Life Elevated” skier plate.
Utahns can request the new plate during registration renewal or through the DMV’s website. The plate’s price will be $16.50 on June 1, but all standard-issue plates will go up to $18.75 starting July 1, a Utah State Tax Commission spokesperson said.
