Police seek missing truck of man found dead on Bangerter Highway

Cesar Adan Martinez, 37, was found dead early Saturday morning.

After a man’s body was found on Bangerter Highway on Saturday, West Jordan police are asking for the public’s help finding his truck.

The body of Cesar Adan Martinez, 37, was found on Bangerter Highway near 8000 South on Saturday morning, police said. A preliminary investigation found stab wounds, and police believe the man’s body was thrown from a fast-moving vehicle, said deputy chief Richard Bell with West Jordan police on Sunday.

Martinez’s missing truck is a blue, four-door 2008 Dodge Dakota with the Utah license plate E36 6SM. The truck has a gray camper shell with a broken window on the passenger side, and police said the vehicle is in “poor condition with numerous dents.”

Police said Martinez had recently moved from West Valley City to Salt Lake City, and is believed to have been at a bar or restaurant on Friday night.

Anyone with information is asked to contact West Jordan police at 801-840-4000.
