Officers identified the woman as Destiny Chismar.

(Salt Lake City Police Department) Salt Lake City police are investigating the suspicious death of a 20-year-old woman who was found near 1715 West 200 South.

Salt Lake City Police are investigating the “suspicious death” of a 20-year-old woman who was found near 1715 West 200 South on Monday evening.

Officers found Destiny Chismar’s body on the ground near the intersection after an individual reported it to police. Salt Lake City homicide detectives and crime lab technicians are investigating, which the police department said is standard protocol.

Investigators believe there is no apparent danger to the community, according to a news release from the department.

Chismar’s death marked the second suspicious death of a young woman in Salt Lake City within a few days, after a 19-year-old University of Utah student was found dead in a motel room Friday.

Chismar was reported missing in 2016, but had later been found. Police could not say if they thought Chismar’s death had any connection to her disappearance as a teenager. Her cause of death has not yet been released.

Police continue to investigate. Anyone with information about this case may call SLCPD at 801-799-3000 and reference case No. 22-27729.
