A woman is in critical condition Thursday after her right arm was severed in an accident at an industrial plant in Woods Cross, FOX 13 reports. The 48-year-old woman’s right arm and jacket had gotten caught in machinery.
Medical personnel arrived at 1959 S. 1100 West just after 1 p.m., according to FOX 13. The woman was flown to a hospital in stable but critical condition. Her arm had to be amputated above the elbow.
Utah Wood Preserving Co. — which treats lumber used in construction — lists the Woods Cross address on its website. When a Salt Lake Tribune reporter called Utah Wood Preserving Co. to confirm that the accident happened there, the call was directed to the company’s human resources department. The representative who picked up the call said she didn’t have any information about the accident.
