South Salt Lake police investigating after woman found dead in parking lot

Police are investigating after a young woman was killed and her body left in a South Salt Lake parking lot.

Officers first received a report of someone finding a dead woman at 2440 S. 300 West on Monday morning. They have since identified the woman as 23-year-old Kaitlyn Barron, from Salt Lake City.

On Wednesday, police also said it appears she died from blunt force trauma.

The investigation into her death — considered a homicide — is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call South Salt Lake’s police department at 801-840-4000.
