A man called the Sanpete County Sheriff’s Office to turn himself in for a homicide, officers there said.

According to the sheriff’s office Facebook page, dispatchers received a call Monday at 5:22 p.m. from a 32-year-old man who said he had killed someone. The call led deputies to a residence on Cobble Ridge Road in the Hideaway Valley subdivision in Fairview.

There they found the body of Joseph Vallejo, 73, officers said.

The man who called in was arrested and booked into the Sanpete County jail in Manti for investigation of murder.
