A 12-year-old boy was struck and killed by a truck in a Pleasant Grove intersection on Monday.
According to police, Michael Madsen was crossing Pleasant Grove Boulevard about 6 p.m. when a “large, construction-type truck” headed south on State Street turned right and hit the boy, who was crossing with the light, in the crosswalk. The 12-year-old died instantly.
The driver of the truck did not see the boy, according to police. He stopped and was cooperative with investigators, and drugs and alcohol do not appear to be involved.
The investigation into the accident continues; no charges have been filed.
