A dead man whose body was found in Big Cottonwood Regional Park, naked except for a diamond ring, has been identified by Unified police.

Unified police say the man is 72-year-old Devin O’Donnell, of Holladay. Police haven’t yet determined his cause of death, although they don’t suspect foul play.

The Salt Lake Tribune previously reported that the man’s body was found in the park in Millcreek. The body was naked, and the only identifying item was a gold ring with a square design and an inset diamond.

A man walking on a trail near the park discovered the body Wednesday morning while chasing his dog into a grove of trees. The body showed no obvious signs of trauma, and the Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office was scheduled to perform an autopsy.
