Park City • Park City Mountain ski resort says it is now open for the winter season.

Lifts began operating Wednesday morning at the resort's Park City Mountain Village and the Canyons Village. The ski resort describes itself as the largest in the United States.

Park City Mountain will be open for the winter season through April 7. Updates on terrain and weather reports will be available online.

Other Utah resorts are opening for the Thanksgiving weekend, too, thanks to recent cold weather. Snowbird pushed up its opening to Saturday.

Brian Head, Brighton and Snowbasin are already open; Alta opens Friday.
