A man was stabbed after he dropped a bag of drugs and another man refused to return it.

According to Salt Lake City police, the victim was in the area of 1700 South and Main Street about 7 a.m. on Tuesday, when he “accidentally dropped his bag of drugs.” The suspect picked the bag up and “took a finders-keepers approach to the situation.”

The victim, unhappy about the suspect's attitude, threatened to hold the suspect's bike hostage until he returned the drugs — at which point the suspect produced a knife; stabbed the victim; took back his bike and rode away.

The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
