Eat, drink and vote for Utah’s best new mobile food vendor Saturday at the Food Truck and Brewery Battle

(Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune) The Umani food truck, which serves pizza cooked in a 4,000-pound wood-fired oven, is one of 18 food trucks participating in the Food Truck and Brewery Battle on Aug. 4.

On Saturday, Aug. 4, bring your appetite and your party spirit to the second annual Food Truck and Brewery Battle. This summertime bash for all ages runs from 4 to 10 p.m. at The Gateway, 100 S. Rio Grande St., Salt Lake City. The event will have 18 food trucks serving square pizza, burritos, Southern-style mac ’n’ cheese, deep-fried Utah scones and more. Those who attend can vote for Utah’s Best New Food Truck and see who wins the Editors' Choice award given by The Salt Lake Tribune, one of the event sponsors along with The Food Truck League, U92 and The Gateway. In addition to the food, 10 Utah breweries will be pouring brews for those 21 and older. Identification required. Rounding out the party will be DJs, Barzz artists, karaoke, comedians and The Bboy Federation on two stages. Admission is free, but bring your wallet to buy food and beer.
