Utah’s homegrown country music festival — Redwest — is set to return to the Utah State Fairpark on Oct. 16-17.
The organizers, a group of Utah music industry friends, made the announcement on Friday morning.
Those who had tickets to the 2025 festival will have the first opportunity to get tickets.
“Due to unforeseen circumstances that impacted last year’s festival on Saturday, we’re offering returning fans access to a discounted alumni ticket rate plus free access to the exclusive Thursday night opening concert featuring special guests,” an email blast from organizers stated.
Those unforeseen circumstances refer to a storm Utah got hit with last year.
Torrential rain and winds led to the cancellation of Post Malone’s Saturday set.
Many fans were stuck outside waiting up to four hours for an update from organizers and were upset at how the news was communicated. They demanded refunds for their Saturday ticket.
One woman, Ava Ahlander, was struck by a piece of scaffolding from a nearby development after evacuating the open-air venue.
In the aftermath, her uncle was adamant that how Ahlander died “didn’t have anything to do with what happened at the festival.”
Since, her family has filed a lawsuit against the Utah construction company, Kier Construction Co, whose site the scaffolding fell from.
The festival resumed the next day with headliner Noah Kahan taking the stage.
Tickets for this year’s Redwest go on sale April 17. The alumni discount period starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 11:59 p.m.
On Instagram, the festival organizers confirmed this year’s lineup will be announced before the alumni sale starts.
The email fans used in 2025 to buy tickets will serve as their one-time discount code for 2026 tickets, and they can purchase the same number of tickets as they did in 2025.
