Taylor Frankie Paul. Whitney Leavitt. Jennifer Affleck.
These Utah-based influencers captivated audiences first on TikTok, and then on the first season of their reality T.V. show, “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” which featured several other Latter-day Saint influencers — all part of the group dubbed as “MomTok.”
This week, MomTok is set to come back in full force for the second season of their show. All 10 episodes of the second season will drop on May 15, 2025 on Hulu.
Here’s a rundown on where we left off with each cast member.
Taylor Frankie Paul
Where she left off: Frankie Paul, often viewed as the leader of the group, had a rough first season. After going through her swinging scandal, divorce and an arrest, her stress was even more heightened while fighting with her then-partner Dakota Mortensen. The first season closes out with the pair in a hospital room as Paul gives birth to their son, Ever True. Friends: All of MomTok. Rivals: Leavitt, who seems to have a grudge against her, as the two vie for the ‘queen bee’ spot in MomTok. Predictions/Questions for season two: Paul and Mortensen will have to confront their rocky relationship and trust issues once and for all as they learn to co-parent. Social media posts hint to the fact that they have split ways. Will Paul take a step back to focus on herself? Jennifer Affleck
Where she left off: Affleck, after coasting through the first few episodes of season one, had a major reckoning moment with her husband Zac towards the end of the season after he blew up at her for unknowingly attending a Chippendale’s show in Vegas. After skipping out early on one MomTok event, and missing another entirely, the couple is shown in New York at the end of the season, where Zac got into medical school, which Jennifer pays for from the income she earns through MomTok. Friends: All of MomTok, though, her friends had some tough love for her at the end of season one about her relationship. Rivals: LeavittPredictions/Questions for season two: One of the biggest questions viewers have for season two is what happened between the couple, and, if Jennifer has taken a step back from MomTok because of her husband’s disapproval. The couple has since announced that they are expecting a third child, garnering disapproval from viewers who believe she should leave Zac. Whitney Leavitt
Where she left off: During season one, Leavitt stepped into the villain role with ease. Her frustration with MomTok — both the content and the creators behind it — began to grow as the season progressed. Leavitt had arguments with several of the girls, decided to leave the group, and even skipped out on Mayci Neeley’s business launch party. But in the season finale, she showed up to Mikayla Matthews’ birthday party, uninvited, and tried to make amends. Friends: At the end of the first season, it seemed that Neely was her only acquaintance.Rivals: All the other creators in MomTok. Predictions/Questions for season two: Leavitt will have to do some major groveling and explanation to get back in the good graces of MomTok. Teasers for the new season make it seem like that journey will be bumpy, as the other moms call for accountability for Leavitt’s penchant of disappearing and gossiping. Will she come back to MomTok? Will the other moms let her? Mikayla Matthews
Where she left off: In the first season, Matthews plays an almost background role. There are highlights, like her intro where she explains who she is, but aside from some sparse commentary we don’t get a real sense of what role she plays in the group. During the season finale, she celebrates a rather eventful birthday at Classic Fun Skating when Leavitt shows up unexpectedly. Friends: All the moms Rivals: Leavitt Predictions/Questions for season two: In the second season, it seems that Matthews will play a bigger and bolder role. Clips have already been released of her confronting Leavitt. Will she take on a more central role in the friend group? What will that role look like?Demi Engemann
Where she left off: In the first season, Engemann took on the role of the confronter. She called out Leavitt for her gossiping, while also being called out for some of her comments about the other moms, like calling Paul “white trash” and Affleck “too Mormon.” At one point, it was floated that Engemann would become the group leader with Leavitt AWOL and Paul otherwise occupied. Friends: EveryoneRivals: Leavitt (Season 1) Predictions/Questions for season two: If social media posts over the past few months have any truth to them, it seems that Engemann will take on a villain role in season two. She has not been included in many of the MomTok group photos and outings, and has feuded with Paul on TikTok a few times. In fact, in a wild twist of events, it seems that she and Leavitt have formed an alliance. What caused the fallout that made all the moms turn away from her?Mayci Neeley
Where she left off: Neeley was an anchoring force in season one, bridging the gap between the two offset groups within MomTok (“saints and sinners”) since she was friends with everyone. Throughout the season, she called out Mortensen (Paul’s partner) for his behavior. At the end of the season, she is on the phone with Jenna, a woman that claims to have been involved with Mortensen while he was first seeing Paul. Friends: Everyone Rivals: No one, though, she is hurt by Leavitt and that friendship is on the rocks.Predictions/Questions for season two: Neeley will continue to be a voice of reason in the group, while being a friend to all who reciprocate. After the Mortensen/Paul dust settles, she will take a back seat on steering any scandal discoveries in the group. Jessie Ngatikaura
Where she left off: Ngatikaura and Engemann were two peas in a pod during the first season, unafraid to speak up. Ngatikaura played almost a background role in season one, similar to Matthews, though she had her moments, like sneaking a flask into a graduation party, and chronicling the journey of cosmetic procedures she went through. Friends: Everyone Rivals: Leavitt, Zac Affleck Predictions/Questions for season two: Ngatikaura is a big question mark for this season. Will she play a bigger role? Will that role expand beyond the small scope it had in the first season?Layla Taylor
Where she left off: Taylor, fresh from a divorce, spent the first season celebrating her newfound freedom. Her growth had just started during season one, bolstered by the support from her MomTok friends. Friends: Everyone Rivals: LeavittPredictions/Questions for season two: Taylor will continue to grow as a young, single mother, while also taking a more direct role in content creation.
