After breaking out in Utah’s first four contests of 2025, Hunter Andrews had his season cut short due to a season-ending injury versus Texas Tech.

But — almost eight months later — Utah’s redshirt sophomore gadget tight end is back in the fold and participating in spring camp, according to Utah football coach Morgan Scalley.

“It was good to see Hunter Andrews back out there today,” Scalley said. “I’m pleased with the progress.”

Before having his season cut short, Andrews tallied 10 receptions for 65 yards. He also ran the ball 13 times for 113 yards and one touchdown.

With Utah losing tight end JJ Buchanan to Michigan this offseason and Dallen Bentley to the 2026 NFL Draft, Andrews has an opportunity to emerge as a playmaker in Utah’s new-look offense under new coordinator Kevin McGiven.

“He is an athletic kid,” Utah tight ends coach Luke Wells said of Andrews. “He, like the rest of these guys, I’m just excited to coach and develop them. He shows up to work every day, and he’s got a good attitude. He’s smart, and he’s a guy that I think can help us.”
